What PSI on a accumulator tank

Post by dac72 »

Hi, I was wondering what would be the proper PSI to have my accumulator tank set with a flojet and my Vivaldi II? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi, welcome to the S1 Cafe!

I don't have a Flojet so I'm not the best qualified to answer this for you but everyone seems to be running their machines anywhere between 20-30psi on average when plumbed into the street. I don't know if the accumulator tank would be any different since the machines are happy at those settings.

Niko thanks for the speedy reply. I am currently running mine at 33psi and I am curious how others have theirs set to. Also, I am wondering if adjusting it down to something like 25 psi will affect shot quality.

33 is nothing to worry about.
If it goes anything higher than (let's say) about 70, machine will start leaking more. The shot quality should be very good in that range you mentioned.

All of the instructions for the Vivaldi suggest input pressure around 25 psi. Since you are going to have some variability (even with an accumulator) I don't see any reason to have the pressure set higher than the recommended. As Niko says, you are presumably not going to blow things up at 33 psi, but why go that high when you don't need to? The higher you go the more stress you are going to put on all of the connections.
Take care,
Mark
