Screen direction

Post by ebprod »

I was cleaning my S1 V2 tonight, and I didn't pay attention to how the screens were oriented on the brass plate. When I was putting it back together it occurred to me that the smaller screen could go in either way.

So, what is the correct orientation of the screens?

I think there were some alternate configs, but put the big one on the grouphead first, then the small screen, then the bolt.

You can get it all put together first, and see how it fits better that way.

What a coincidence, I was cleaning mine too. The video clip shows the order and direction they go in...besides the filthy coffee grinds all over.

Which end of the brass plate is up? Which end are the screens against? I'm surprised that this isn't in the owners manual.

Thanks.

The part that tapers is facing down, the larger diameter part is up against the grouphead.

I have the configuration explained in my manual, yet it's original Vivaldi manual that came with my machine.

Surprisingly I have the star-arranged bigger dispersion disk, so I'll have to get the circle-arr. thinner to try it out (I'll get it from Hasbean of course)

That sounds right...
only in America do we overdo everything so the thinners disc was made to allow more coffee to be loaded :D
I wouldn't worry about it, you can use the alternate screen configuration shown on this site to be able to fit more coffee in the basket.
