Volumetric Dosing Adjustments

Greetings to all.
I want to start a thread in detail with volumetric dosing.
My question is everybody elses settings, I'd like to know what other people have set their machines to do volume-wise. Some people only pull doubles so they set their singles for really long cycles and so on, etc..

So, what's your volume in U.S. oz's for each of the two buttons?

I have my double set to about 1.75 oz. I'll stop it short if I get any early blonding during the pour. My single is set longgggg. I just use it manually for rinsing portafilters, backflushing etc.

Same here - double button is 1.75oz; single is for cleaning purposes.

Do you measure the dose with an empty pf? Or how many oz is 1.75oz shot when measured with an empty pf?

We usually measure a full dosed PF with real live coffee to adjust the dosing.

just as a follow-up, I set my "double" button to 2 oz which is approx 1/4 cup. I did this with the pf loaded with a normail shot and made a dot on the glass where the 2 oz level is (shh, don't tell my wife). After setting that I removed the pf and ran just a water shot with no pf and the amount of water was about double (1/2 cup or 4 oz). I thought this may be helpful for anyone who wants to set the dosing but doesn't want to waste a shot.

I'm not sure what the settings are when shipped from Chris's. I know that they adjust them though. I think in playing around with the buttons, mine got re-adjusted.
