I’ve noticed that my shots are extracting from only about 2/3 of the portafilter screen, so that no espresso is coming out of the front of the screen. This happens consistently. I’ve experimented with my tamping pressure - ranging from a very light tamp to very hard tamp and it makes no difference. What am I doing wrong? What else should I experiment with?

Re: Help a newb out - uneven extraction?
The following experiments night be worthwhile. Do these one at a time and observe the results. Also be sure your machine is level first.
1) Leaving the orientation of the screen pair alone, rotate the diffuser block 180degrees
2) Rotate both screens together by 90 degrees
3) Rotate each screen in relation to the other by 90 degrees.
