Boiler Drain Plug Help!
Boiler Drain Plug Help!
So I went to drain my steam boiler and when I was screwing the nut back on, it broke! the threated part of the steam boiler completely broke off. Do you guys have any suggestions on what to do here? Chris Coffee for replacement? How much does a steam boiler cost if anyone knows. Any help or suggestion is appreciated here.

Re: Boiler Drain Plug Help!
I would guess that you need to replace the boiler, but a call to CC is in order. It might be possible to drill out the old fitting and weld in a new one but I imagine that such a project would cost as much, or more than a new boiler.
It looks to me as if you have had a leak at the plug which contributed to rusting out the fitting. Put some Teflon tape on the threads when you replace the plug in the future.
