Boiler auto-refill

Post by DDA »

This is my first post and I am a newbie so please take it easy on me if my question sounds dumb. Actually, my mini VII is just on its way and i'm going crazy already.

Through some readings (online), I noticed that the steam boiler was mentioned to have an auto-refill function. What about the brew boiler, will it auto-refill if left ON for a while? The answer to my question may already be in this forum so I apologize if I didn't search enough to find it. Also, if this topic is off, please feel free to move it.

Thanks you in advance.

The brew boiler is always filled after you first turn the machine on and run the pump to fill everything. Each time you pull a shot the pump forces water into the brew boiler and out the group to make your coffee. The brew boiler stays filled.

This is different from the steam boiler that fills when necessary after the level drops.

Thank you for the quick response. I have a Silvia and that one I can't leave idle (boiler ON state) for a long time because it will dry up. Now I'm wondering if that is the case because its a single boiler and maybe minute amount of steam escape from the steam side drying up the boiler over time?

Thanks.

I've never owned a Silvia so I can't comment on that but have no fear about leaving your Mini turned on. I've run my S1V2 12 hours a day/7 days a week year round with no issues. Be sure to download & read through the comprehensive owners manual Chas has put together if you haven't done so already.

Got it. Thanks.

I dont really intend to leave it ON for extended periods of time but I just want to make sure I dont stress out if I accidentally leave ON in the morning. I knew it's a well thought out machine but I just dont want to make assumptions. I'm glad I chose S1.
