Did you buy an Extended Warranty on the Vivaldi II???
Did you buy an Extended Warranty on the Vivaldi II???
Getting ready to pull the trigger on my new VII and Baratza Vario set-up, and was wondering what people think about extended warranties for this machine? Seems rock solid, which is one of the reasons I'm getting it, but I guess you never know. One leading retailer is asking $200 (Cdn) for the extended warranty. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thx.

Extended warranties are money makers for the retailers which is why they push them. What does it cover & how long does it extend the 1 year warranty? Do you have to ship the machine back for inspection or will they send you a part you could install yourself? Are you mechanically inclined?

The warranty seems to be for an additional year and includes parts, labour and shipping. Seems comprehensive, but for $200, still wondering if I need one at all.

I generally avoid extended warranties. You are betting against the house. If the equipment is well made, as the Vivaldi is, then the odds favor going without.

Thx. That makes good sense, given the high quality of the machine. I think I'll skip it.
