Are most of you using 15 grams of coffee/double? For those that have the Mini Mazzer, what's the range of your setting? I know that the pressure of the tamp affects how fine you can grind, but I am curious.

My 'perfect" amount is that which, when tamped, is as much as I can cram in the basket and still be able to easily snug up the PF w/o the coffee wedging up against the shower screen. That's about 1/3 the way between the line inside the basket and the top of the basket.

For different coffees this varies between 16g and 20g. Some coffees seem to compress more when tamped. Those are the ones I get 20g in.

Using Vivace beans, Mini E, I am 8 notches finer than factory setting. I am using close to 20 grams. I fill to near top, tamp, fill to top brush level with finger and tamp again. I wind up about where Chas does, about 1/3 over fill line.
