How to remove portafilter handle?

How does one remove the black plastic portafilter handle? Is it threaded? If threaded, is it beastly tight with adhesive or Loctite, etc.?

Grab a good hold of it and BUST the glue loose.
Or stick it in a vice and BUST it loose.
Spaziale uses glue, not loc-tite type of material to set the handles in.
Another technique I've heard is with a ViseGrip type of wrench to twist off the handle.

forgot to mention, YES it is threaded so go counter-clockwise like you would with any other thing you're unscrewing.

I recently did this and turned my own cocobolo handle.
I slid the rubber down on the handle. Under the rubber is a nice hexagonal surface which was easy to grab with vice grips. No damage to any visible parts.

Thanks for the input, gentlemen. You confirmed what I assumed to be the case, but just wanted verification before strong-arming the plastic handles.
