When To Replace Grinding Burrs

Post by Zzyzx »

What is the rule of thumb regarding the replacement of grinding burrs? I have a Macap M4 that I use to make 4-5 double espressos a day.

Probably in about 7 years based on your usage.
You'll know when you have a hard time getting a decent pour by grinding finer and finer, also the grinds tend to get uneven and clogs can occur.
Another way to compare is to physically look at the old burr set vs. a new set.

I wanted to order the new 4-hole tip from Chiris and was trying to get my shipping over $50.00. So trying to see what else I could stack on the order that I might need in the near future.

Do you have a bottomless PF?
How about an extra dispersion disk, shower screens and more double baskets?
How about a can of Grindz? - The stuff is amazing!

Maybe I'll get some grindz and screens.

Thanks for the input!
