New drip tray?

Post by barjohn »

Anyone heard from Chris as to when this will be available? I was just about to put the drill to mine when I saw the post suggesting that one was coming. I really would like to have the drip tray drain into the sink or better yet into the drain below. It is one less thing I have to deal with when I am in a hurry in the morning. (Yes I am conservative about leaving a clean machine before I go to work. I always do a couple of back flushes and the porta filter wiggle.)

Chris made it sound like late winter/early spring. There will be a replacement tray and a fair amount of cutting on the bottom of the chassis to retrofit.

I'm not expecting a free upgrade this time around. As a matter of fact I probably won't do it - at least not right away. I really don't have my S1 in a location that will allow it, unfortunately.

I have a similar problem with my Reneka which already has a drip tray drain. The simple and stupid solution is that I put the outlet tube to a large water bucket near/below the espresso machine. Then it

I got the following response from Chris's assistant:

John,

Sorry I haven't gotten right back but Chris was away and I didn't think the drain for the drip trays were ready yet. And I am correct sorry for your confusion but the drain on the drip tray is still in process have not yet come out with. Which we estimate not for 6 to 8 months from now.

Mary

It looks to be further away than your earlier post indicated.
