backflush insert

Should I have received a backflush insert with my machine? I suspect I can rig something up.

I think so. One came with mine. It only fits in the single basket. You should call Chris and get them to mail you one or tell you where they packed it in case you overlooked it. It's pretty small.

I didn't receive a backflush insert either. To improvise, I made some copper washers using a hole saw, soldered them together, plugged the center hole with another piece of copper. This didn't quite work (the "jiggle rinse" worked but not the backflush). I cut out a piece of plastic from a yoghurt lid and put that under the copper disk and that worked. Probably would have been easier to ask for one from Chris but wasn't sure I was supposed to get one.

I get the impression that the new technique described for cleaning the group head is supposed to eliminate the need for back flushing. I must admit that everytime I have removed the diffuser and screens, the group head is perfectly clean.
