So I have a Mini II (3yr old) that started dripping water from the hot water tap. I placed a glass under it last night and would say I got about an ounce of water within 12 hours. So my question is, before I start tearing it apart, is this a common issue and do you know what it probably is?
Thanks for the help guys!

Re: Hot Water Tap Leak
I have found that the solenoid valve for the hot water tends to develop scale that makes it drip. Open the valve and clean with white vinegar and you should be set again.

Re: Hot Water Tap Leak
The issue does come from scale build up in the plunger I think. I rarely use the hot water tap so it made sense. I tried to clean and soak in solution for hours and ended up just buying it from Chris Coffee.

Re: Hot Water Tap Leak
I've found that soaking the valve only works for me about 25% of the time. The rest of the time I have also had to replace the entire assembly. Sometimes I can just find the valve and others I can only locate the valve and solenoid as an assembly even though the original solenoid is fine.
I think CCS only has the valve and solenoid. When I have been able to find just the valve w/o the solenoid it has been at Espresso Parts, but they occasionally only have the valve + Solenoid, too.
In reality, just replacing a few cents worth of parts inside the valve should be all that is required. However, I have been lucky when I have just been able to find the entire valve. I've never found anything like a rebuild kit with just the plunger and washer, for example.
BTW: It seems for this part that Espresso Parts only sells the valve+solenoid. However, it is only $64 rather than $99.

Re: Hot Water Tap Leak
Had this issue - really big drip. The hot water tap was all scaled up. Found the how to remove it plan at clive coffee.
How to Descale
It's a good afternoon's work but it I got it out, de-scaled it and put it all back together (without any extra parts!) and it works like a charm!
