Manometer cutout

Post by xtophr »

Can anyone measure the cutout of the dual manometer on their S1/VII? I hate the carnival appearance on the stock piece. There are quite a variety of dual manometers out there that have a more serious attitude than the multicolored one installed. I tend to favor the ones with a black face, but since it's location is down below the group, it may be hard to see unless the pointers and digits are white.

So if the new manometer is bigger than the old one, just a new hole would need to be created.

If you have a Vivaldi I, you don't need to cut anything out for a dual manometer - they actually make round ones that'll fit.
I'm not sure if there's an existing one with a black dial for the VII, would make it look pretty cool like a nice Patek Pilippe watch.

The S1 single manometer is 53mm across. There may be other sources that resolve this issue but all the dual manometers I found on the Espresso Parts website are 62mm.

Yikes, that's a bit bigger.
I guess cutting is the only way to go but I'd have a machine shop do a nice clean job, unless you're extremely handy...
I'm pretty handy with a portafilter but not that great at craftsman type of work.

Chas, how wide is the VII's manometer? - It looks to be at least 65-70mm's accross.

The manometer hole in the VII front cover is about 60mmx48mm.
