Mini Vivaldi water tank issue

Hi to all.my 1st post

My M. Vivaldi water tank hydrolic piece seems to have shed the protective layer( I think it is a protective layer) and now remains just the copper or brass surface.Is it ok to use ? Can I do something about it ? Do I need to get a new piece and if so where do I find it ?

Endo will probably chime in with more info since he has experience with this. If I understand correctly, the chrome is flaking off exposing the brass underneath? This is a very common failure due to a reaction with the water. If under warranty, you can get a new part but it really doesn't hurt anything. I think I recall Endo saying that he finally just broke down and stripped all the chrome off.
