Got my new S1 set up yesterday, and have been making lots of espresso. This is a wonderful machine, and spot-on with all the reviews I read here and at the other usual sites. Waiting for my new grinder to arrive, for now I am relegated to running to the local shop to have espresso ground for a couple of days use, and the shots are still impressive, though could be a lot better.
Couple of questions: Anyone know where I could get a triple basket for it? I have replaced the stainless steel screw for the screens with a lower profile hex button-head screw, but am still seeing an impression in the puck, and think I need a slight bit more coffee in the basket.
How do you easily get the basket out of the portafilter? [edit] I just ordered La Marzocco clips from Espresso Parts.com after searching the forums. Multiple baskets would also allow easier use for producing coffee for a group of people, another reason to pick up a triple, if I can get one. Also, best place to get a bottomless pf if I don't want to give one of mine up as a donor?
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
S1 for Xmas - newbie questions
For the bottomless PF, I would check out http://www.chriscoffee.com/products/hom ... ortafilter. He carries an S1 PF that has been beautifully machined by Lino Verna for ~ $55.00

Yes there exist a custom made triple basket for the S1: http://www.rimpo.org/wforum/viewtopic.php?t=110
But to those of us who missed the first & second rounds, we have to wait if Lino's willing to do a third.
