Cappuccino Cup Size?

Hi all,

I want to get a nice set of cappuccino cups like these http://www.greatinfusions.com/scurro_espresso_cup.html but am not sure what would be the best size, 5 or 6 oz.? I originally thought the 6 oz. cups made the most sense based on a composition of 2 oz espresso, 2 oz milk, and 2 oz foam. However, the 5 oz size appears to be the standard for SCAA competitions. I'm now inclined to go with the 5 oz size but would appreciate any input others might have before I place the order.

I checked my Illy cups & they are 5oz also. 6oz is kind of pushing it milk wise but it really depends on your tastes. I'm not big on milk drinks so the 5 oz is plenty for me.

i enjoy the milk drinks and generally start in the morning with the 6 oz cup for my first. if its a weekend and im around, i move to the 5 oz for my second. i like those cups and bought one set of 6 ozs, a set of 5ozs and a set of espresso cups (2oz i think)

I guess since I already have and use some acceptable cups that are at least 6 oz and since these will probably not be the last cups I buy, I opted for the 5 oz 'Nero' cool black set. These should contrast well with the plain white 2 oz cups I got from Chris Coffee. The clearance over the VII is pretty tight but these should fit well. Nice classic shape should feel good in the hands too.

I'm pretty sure for SCAA competitions, they're making single shot cappuccinos in those cups.

Those are nice cups.
I have several dozen
I have the 2.75oz, 3, 5 and 6oz'ers (all except the 10oz Latte).
Latte's are not allowed in my house

You will not regret getting those cups

Got the cups last night and tried them out this morning. These are nice . Good finish and heft, plus my wife likes them too. Always a good thing .

I'll probably add some 6 oz'ers to the collection sometime soon.

The 6oz'ers are really, really nice
They have SERIOUS porcelain going on, they're the SUV's of coffee cups. You can seriously damage your floor if you drop one of these (concrete included)

i have the 6, 5 and 2ozs in black. generally use the 6oz for the first cup in the morning. great, heavy traditional look
