No auto dose

I have been unable to use the auto dose feature for a while. Been using manual. Get the 3 flashing lights in single or double but still able to pull shots with manual timing. What should I look at. Don’t mind manual but if it is an easy fix, sure.

Recommend a triple basket from Chris Coffee. It will hold 21g. That is all I have use for years. And yes the auto dose is just a measures volume of water.
BTW, you will need a bottomless portafilter for the triple basket.

Re: Breville BES900XL - Competition?

I was considering this machine ( Current S1 owner) since I can get one for free with my United Airlines points. I have read every post (over 250) on CoffeeGeek.com. And have decided to pass, even though it would be free. Why? A few reasons 1. I truly believe you get what you pay for 2. Made in China...

S1 Rebuild

Thinking of totally rebuilding my S1. I have had it for 8-9 years (Thanks to Chris COffee, 2005). I have done minimum maintenance . Also wiggle and routinely chemical flush. Machine runs great pulling espresso, which is what we almost exclusively use for iced lattes. The steam boiler will not fill, ...

Good Call. I just thought that since water was getting to the group, it was not an issue. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Steam Boiler Not Refilling

I plan on doing both. The gicleur and the metal mesh filter. Thanks for the advice, but you do agree it is not the 280?

Re: Steam Boiler Not Refilling

I am having problems with my steam tank not filling. Pulling espresso shots are no problem. So the brew head works normal. We most always do iced coffees so the steam is seldom used. After reading the above post, i dont see how the part 280 sticking could be my problem since the brew head functions ...

I did almost the same type of set up for mine. It is on the opposite side of the kitchen from the sink. Next to the refrig. Iwas going to split off the water line from the refrig, but on the other side of the wall is the downstars bathroom. I tapped into the cold water line from the sink, ran a filt...

I no longer backflush with Cafiza. I do the wiggle to clean the head of grounds after every pull. I clean the screens and disk every other month. Sometimes I do a backflush with water only every now and then. I do not know why I do this???

Just did the motor mounts replacement...UNBELIVEABLE...no need for any other trick or insulation. Took about 30 minutes..a little bit of a pain, but well worth it. Now the S1 doesn't sound like a lathe machine starting up every morning.
