After hearing all the stories about removing/replacing the side covers I had to find out what the big deal was.



You'll be please to know I did drop one of my nuts removing them but got them back on without incident. I didn't think it was a big deal but then I am used to working on cars/motorcycles/houses & anything else that breaks around here. The only nerve racking part was getting the plastic plug on the rear of each cover out without snapping it off. These things are always breaking off on car door panels when you remove them.

While I had it open I added a rubber cushion to the frame rail to cushion the capacitor bracket & brew pressure feed line. Changed the mounted angle of the capacitor also. Seems to be quieter now. Added the extension to the 3 way valve outlet even though dripping by the tray hadn't been an issue.

While I do like the S1 decal I hate the idiotic warning labels manufacturers now have to plaster all over our equipment. Especially ones that would require you to stand on your head to read.

I agree! Its almost disappointing to finish a repair job & not have at least one skinned knuckle.

I forgot to mention that with the tall feet there is no need to tip the machine up to access the side panel screws underneath. A stubby phillips head screwdriver fits under there nicely.

Unless something breaks I don't see any reason to pull them off again outside of a yearly checkup/inspection. Why did you have them apart so many times?

2 Machines = twice as many chances of something going awry.

Had to remove the panels for:
1. Check things when I first got the machine
2. Steam Boiler probe broke
3. Change rear panel (shipping damage)
4. removed them to isolate funny noises
5. removed panels again to isolate more funny sounds
6. remove them again every six months to check on things

Now multiply this by 2 and you get a dozen

And yes, I drop my nuts at least once per session.
