I'm curious, is there such a thing as a thinner dispersion disc for my S1 VII?

Maybe I'm using the wrong term - the brass disc in the group right above the shower screens. Dispersion disc? Diffusion disc?

Is there any reason it couldn't be thinner?

It used to be thicker, so the answer (for now) is "no".

I don't see any reason for it not to be thinner, I assume you'd like to cram more coffee in it, right?

Try shaving the bolt head down. That'll give you a couple more mms.

I am afraid that I don't see how shaving the bolt head down does anything to help out. The area of coffee that you gain by shaving the bolt is insignificant compared to the total area of the basket.

So how much are you trying to get in a double? I have no problems with 18g doses.

When I was measuring before dosing, I was using somewhere north of 17 grams. Now I just thwack-thwack, it's probably a bit more, maybe 18.

And you want to be able to squeeze more in? I did several 18g baskets yesterday & found nothing in the screens when I dropped them last night.

No, just curious how much you are trying to squeeze in. 18g fits easily so I would think 19-20 is doable. Whats the most you've tried so far? Where are those triple baskets??

The triples only (realistically) fit 21 grams at the most without cramming.
