I noticed that a bunch of people have been using these shot glasses for their machines. What do you think?

I would be afraid of them breaking, but the shape is so sexy!

Which of the bodum shot glasses are you using and why (or why not)?

I don't use them for my machine, but I do have a couple of them which I occasionally use for my espresso.

They're interesting, but I generally prefer porcelain. Why? Because the insulated glass keeps the shot so hot it's easy to burn myself.

I concur.
I have at least a dozen of those Bodum double-wall glasses, they're great for cold drinks (be careful placing ice in them).
For hot drinks they're too hot, they don't allow the espresso shots to cool down properly for the flavors and aromas to emerge naturally like porcelain does. They're really nice to have around for evaluation purposes and for those slow coffee drinkers who nurse their espresso drinks.

Got that exact set.

Don't care for the shape (I feel a bell-shaped top allows you to smell and taste more).

More importantly, there is no handle. I am back to the classic white Illy cups.

The Assam shape is the one I use for all my personal espressos. I like that it allows me to linger longer over an espresso and find different tastes as it slowly cools off.

(Some of this patience about cooling is externally enforced as my wife likes to take a central sip out of my doubles at night.)

I don't have thick porcelain and can't compare to those, but the double-walled Bodum shot glasses are very worth looking at. And they are in the lower price range for a decent espresso serving piece.

Have a set of the small Bodum double wall espresso glasses. They look great but I prefer the taste out of my ACF cups.

Cheers

I have a couple sets of the Bodum Pavina glasses. I have a set that are 5(?) oz and a set of the 9oz. the small ones are nice to observe a shot as others have said.

I like the 9oz for a double capp because it is sooo beautiful in the cup, but I must agree that the coffee stays too hot too long for me. I prefer my drinks cooled just a bit as I think this brings out the flavors of the coffee.

Last weekend I bought a few of the ACF cups from Great Infusions. These are better for the quality of the drink.

I would love to see some of those Illy cups, though, Niko. I am so tempted to order the Pistoletto set.

Ahh...the Pistoletto set is indeed nice!
Get 'em while they're not hot - in other words, before the prices skyrocket on eBay for them.
I love the ACF's, the quality is top notch and cups don't get much better than that.

I didn't realize how many Bodum double-wall cups I had

Good grief, Niko. You really do have a lot of stuff. Do you have an espresso room?

 yes.
I've taken over the entire kitchen and most of the dining room.
