S1 vivaldi 1 - unknown cable

Post by titusz248 »

Hello mates,
Just my first used vivaldi 1 s1. Upon disassembly i found a cable in a bad condition can you help me identify it?

After finish brewing my solenoid flushes the water into and around the tray and i saw some electronics behind it so i was wondering if its a good fix to fit on the tube another silicon tube to make it longer so it will not spill around the tray?!

Also i read it exist v2 in a v1 cassis? The guy whom i bought my machine from told me i can pre-infuse by pushing on/off for 5 sec and after boiler for 5sec and for real i can set between 1-8 seconds pre-infusion.

Thank you for any useful reply

The broken or breaking wire is a ground wire since it connects directly to the boiler.

The copper pipe that you highlighted in the bottom photo is the 3-way valve which drains into the "drip tray". If the water is missing the drip tray you can always bend the copper pipe a bit toward the front of the machine. My S2 also had a high pipe like yours so I put a short piece of silicon tubing over the end of the pipe to effectively may it longer. I had some of this from my beer brewing hobby. So a beer store or even a hardware store maybe a good source if you don't have the right diameter lying around the house.

As for your other questions, you should ready this V2 manual since it sounds like your S1 may have the same controller board used in the V2.

BTW: The bolt next to the one holding your ground wires appears to be loose. You may want to tighten it down carefully while you're fixing the ground wire issue.

Thanks for the warning, yes it was loosen because i wanted to open up the boiler i wasnt successful :( some of the bolts are too tight - i guess because of scale and some of them i could not even reach. I suppose i should remove the boiler but for me it would take some hours however i work now everyday without any free days and i arrive at home around 22pm so i have only max 30-60 minutes daily. I naively tell myself that it must be clean even though i know its full of scale... :happy3:
