Mystery Spring for Vivaldi II S1 plumbed version

So I'm putting back together my Vivaldi S1 after a deep descale and pump replacement and I found a random spring on the desk!
Any idea where this part is from in the machine?
It looks like it fits over the pump connection mechanism to the motor but I don't want to make any mistakes here and burn out the motor or worse.
Any ideas?
