I ran across this discussion on HB and thought some of you might find it helpful.

I've been following that one & a few others. If you don't use your hot water tap regularly a weekly or biweekly draining of the steam boiler sounds like a good idea. We pull 2.5-3.5 liters of hot water every day so I only drain the steam boiler every month or two. Draining the brew boiler seems like a complete waste of time as it only holds .45ltr max so it gets flushed regularly. I opened it up last time I descaled the steam boiler when I was running harder water then I am now & it had zero scale inside.
