Anyone do this or is it just my bad form?

Here's how it goes for me on a daily basis:

I pull a double, top it with home-made vanilla/cinnamon-dolce whip cream. I head down to the basement office and start studying school garbage.

I head back up stairs and pull a quad or a sextuplet with the same delicious whip cream topping, and head out the door for class.

Now, here's where where my poor form shows it's ugly face. I drink the quad/sextuplet for the duration of the day.......for up to the next 6+ hours. It's stone cold.

What I've found is that espresso, with my whip cream concoction, makes several delightful flavor changes over the next several hours.

I know, it's considered blasphemous but does anyone else do this?

I think you're on your own on this one.
Sounds nasty to most but I used to work with a gal who did pretty much what you described and she was a full-time student with a full-time job.
I guess you do what you can in the limited time you have, sounds you're making the most of it

I keep a french press in my desk drawer at work along with an electric kettle.

I save the Espresso for the house & drink it while its hot. When I hit the road locally I brew something up in the Press or Aeropress. The Thermos travel mugs (15oz) we have will keep coffee at least warm for hours which is fine for short trips. If I'm heading out for the day I fill our T/N TGS1000 carafe & it will keep it hot all day.

I should have prefaced this post by saying that cold espresso, without the whip cream, is pretty gross.

I didn't say this was nasty to me, most people (non-coffee folk) would think we're all strange with some of our habits

What you said didn't surprise me, zoey - I'm sure the cream keeps it nice and smooth

for 20a mode you could set up a small Espresso bar in the trunk of your car. I could see it in the rear of our BMW Touring. Add a second battery linked to the main one under the rear seat & you'd be all set for family vacations!

I have a Kraps 989, it's much better than a steam toy. I'd still rather lug a 65lb beast if it means better espresso

My point was that I didn't see why someone would spend ~$2500 for an espresso machine and grinder to then drown the resulting espresso in flavored whipped cream. No insults to Krups intended!

I got one of those Krups years ago as a gift from my now ex wife. Don't think I ever used it so I can't say how good or bad it is. Passed it on to my daughter a couple years ago to try out but she says there is some key piece missing so we may never know.

It's not just "any old" whip cream! It's my specialty blend!

Think of it as adding a sweetener to your espresso.

The A3 looks like another shiny metal box with some wood trim thrown on. A very pricey smb at that. Whats the attraction?

The A3 is about as beautiful as a canker sore to me

Looks like a Panini Press with a wooden handle.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, espresso machines and other appliances are just not beautiful to me.
I'm really not a fan of all the E61 overly-shiny, gaudy looking boxes. I'm not saying the S1 is drop dead gorgeous, the beauty in it lies that it doesn't take over an entire kitchen like "look at me...."

Guilty!! The cooper/brass Semiautomatica is definitely a thing of beauty as is the chrome Leva.

Wow! That brings back some bad memories (and a few nightmares of ending up in the burn unit of a level 1 trauma hospital).

With all due respects to Dunn Bros, I used to think that they're beans were really good. Now I know better. Niko, that's funny - with all the shots you pull, it's no wonder you're sleep deprived!

I believe I bought a cup of the Dawn of the Dead coffee this morning. Starbucks calls it Pikes Place Blend but the only discernable flavor is severely burnt bean. Even with Half & Half I could only choke down half a cup. Seems pointless for them to waste time installing Clovers if the only setting on their roasters is Charbroil. Burnt s/o beans aren't going to taste any better brewed in a Clover.
