Advice on choosing grinder - La Spaziale Junior anyone??

Post by coffeeowl »

I'm just about to order my S1VII and I will order a grinder as well. I was almost decided on Mazzer Mini, yet, as I'm in touch with local La Spaziale seller, I was offered La Spaziale Junior grinder and it's 25% off the Mazzer price. I welcome advice since it's quite difficult for me to decide.
Thanks!

Send us a link to the grinder, and tell us the price.

Then I will tell you if it is a good deal.

Actually there's very limited information on LaSpaz site about the grinder, but I managed to find out here:

that it's not stepless, so well I'll get the Mazzer.
Niko, does the S1 come with a blind filter for backflushing?

MACAP makes grinders for La Spaziale.
The S1 usually does not come with a blind basket, Chris' throws in a blank rubber disk for that so I'm not sure other vendors do the same.
The rubber disk is fine but the metal blind ones work better.

As for the grinder, you can pass that Mazzer down the family line for the next couple hundred years. You can probably load it with fuel, light it on fire and throw it through a window and it'll work after wiping it off and adjusting the grind collar

Thank you for reply!
So I have to ask my vendor about the backflush disk and you know what?? I have a problem finding out how we call it in polish :D
I had a little fun with them already asking about the naked portafilter, now they'll think I'm crazy! :?

That LaSpaz Junior looks like a rebranded:

Pasquini Moka
Carimali Junior
Anfim House, Best, Superbest?
La Pavoni Jolly?

Now whether these are all the same, or all made by MACAP, I have no idea. But I did not see MACAP actually have their own model that looked like this.

Mazzers are tanks, and last forever.
