Hi. Weird. I just typed a novel about my machine and its gone.
So its been a while.
My v2 steam boiler will RANDOMLY go KABOOM.
This is always on heat up, at 5:15AM.
I was able to view this in person as the machine will work fine for 1 month and randomly go KABOOM and scare the living hell out of the cat and the wife and i.
So heat up goes normal. GH will heat until gauge touches the red zone, switches over to steam boiler, and will toggle back and forth until steam boiler gets to temp. BUT. Randomly as viewed by myself yesterday, the steam boiler gauge will get into the RED ZONE and keep going until she blows her top. After that, all is normal again until 1 month or 1 week and she overheats and blows the over pressure valve again.
I spoke with Chris coffee and was suggested i replace the temp sensor on top of the boiler. I did this, and no change. So thats not the problem.
So it seems to me i had this problem many years ago and i ended up opening up the steam boiler and cleaning out the sediment. After that no more problem. I think. I cant remember.
So i am looking for suggestions, maybe cleaning the boiler again? Does it make sense that sediment in the boiler can cause this? Hmmmm. I dunno.
Any suggestions appreciated. I cant really send this machine to a shop to get it looked at as there is no one within 1000 miles.
Thanks Colin

If it is sediment in the boiler, you should be able to just unscrew the drain plug at the bottom. Otherwise, the boiler might be overfilling which is the fill probe's job rather than the temp probe's. That probe may need to be descaled as there is really nothing to break with that probe.

Thanks. I will try that.
Today everything is normal. Steam gauge is sitting just into the red where it should be.
