A53 Lucca Direct Plumb: metal taste from steam wand (only) and flaky pressure from water boiler

This eight yr old unit had metal taste in the froth and a water boiler with unreliable pressure. The hot water spigot suffers from the pressure but not the metal taste. Group head pulling shots just fine (dusk boilers, as you may know). Both problems began at the same time. Ideas?

How long does the pump stay on when refilling the steam boiler?

When I turn it on I hear the pump for maybe 10 secs but I don’t hear it after its first use to make foam that I mentioned inOP

Seems to be a normal fill at start-up leading to able to do 1 maybe 2 froths but then I’m guessing it doesn’t re-generate/ restore pressure.
