Interesting discoveries:
1. They removed the old temperature sensor that was acting up. This was on a machine that was in home use for about a month, plumbed in through a Bestmax combo carbon, softener filter. I had measured the output at less than 3 grains. Here's a picture of the removed sensor:

Thats a lot of scale for one months use on low mineral water.
2. The new machine has clearly been updated with a fix that addresses the original 3 way discharge line issue. The plastic tube and weird brass fitting has been changed to what looks like a similar configuration to the vivaldi machines, solid copper line directly from the 3 way aiming straight down into the drip tray. Here's a picture of the new config:

Other than that, all is good.
