Hi
I would love to be able to turn on my S1 Vivaldi 2 remotely via smartphone. I have seen some of the modifications shared in these forums, but prefer something as simple as possible.
I was wondering how much modification it takes to be able to turn the machine on, using a Network controlled power outlet like e.g. a Belkin Wemo Switch: http://www.belkin.com/us/F7C027-Belkin/p/P-F7C027/
Any of you savy people out there who has a simple "Step by Step" solution to this?
Regards
Kim

Re: How to: Simple remote on/off?
I don't personally have a solution for you. However, your proposed idea won't work with the S1. When powered on, the S1 always starts in its Standby state. So controlling a power outlet box via any automated method doesn't do anything.
When you press the Standby button to turn on the S1 you are momentarily shorting together two wires that go to the controller board. If you search this forum you will find some automated methods different folks have come up with to do this.

Thanks Chas, Looks like the solution from user bgour in this thread is interesting. I will try to go for that: http://s1cafe.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=261#p24435
