Anyone measure temp in the actual puck?
Years ago before I had heard of the Scace device, I decided to just drill a hole in my single portafilter basket and measure the brewing temp in the actual puck. Wastes a little coffee, but not too much. I was just wondering what you thought of this approach. Unlike a chuck of foam, the coffee is essentially cool before the water hits it. So would setting the temperature based on this end up with too high of temp?
