how do you guys dial in your new s1
dose/tamp/grind/temp/beans
seems like an exhausting process, do you follow this:
http://www.home-barista.com/tips/dialin ... t3113.html
I have a mini, and a vario (properly calibrated)
what grind setting/tamp pressure/dose work best for the experienced users here? I know this depends somewhat on the beans too, but I just want to start somewhere.
thanks

i thought you just upgraded from a silvano to an andreja? congrats.symbology wrote:My MVII arrives from CCS tomorrow.
Re: dialing in new machine
I did, but the cooling flush on the Andreja requires way too much water for me (8-9oz per flush). I cannot plumb it in and the machine is right underneath some cabinets, this means I am pulling the Andreja out from its home 2 times a day. On top of that, even with the group thermometer I feel that finding the right temp to be a pain. Sure, the flush and wait works well, but in the morning I really do not want to waste time watching a thermometer creep up to the proper temp. Also, it is easy to get distracted and wait too long. I am also trying to get a machine that is easier to use for my wife. As with many of you, we are now the "go to" place for a good latte / cappuccino. She needs to be able to pull some nice shots for her friends when I am not around.
We gave the Silvano to my folks and it is working out well for them so far.
I cannot wait to get home and get the Mini setup.
