Custom wood

Post by Dodger1 »

I've been following the "Custom Wood for your Espresso Machine" http://www.home-barista.com/marketplace ... 10642.html thread for quite awhile now and thought it would be cool to have him craft a portafilter handle for my Mini II.

Thinking was all I was doing, until I saw an example of his work with Amboyna Burl and then thinking immediately turned into ordering.

As soon as I receive them from Dave, I'll post a photo of how they look on my Mini II.

Received them last night and all I can say is that pictures simply don't show the "real" craftsmanship of Dave's work. But here's my lame attempt at capturing how they look on my Mini II.

$90.00 total, including shipping etc. Not cheap but hey you only get to go around once and since you can't take it with you.

Not entirely true. I think they make Amboyna Burl coffins too.

Wow, great way to customize an S1. My would would probably comment that it doesn't match the cabinets. LOL

I can't imagine what Amboyna Burl cabinets would cost but they'd be way 8)

Wow! That's one of the best combinations I've seen. Impressive!

The amboyna pics also motivated me to order some pieces from Dave.

I think my machine may now be finished--tall legs, LED lights, wood handles. Of course, I've said that before!

Nice to see my S1 steam knob design mounted on a machine! I still have the original in Cocobolo but sold the S1 before I got around to mounting it. It took 3-4 back & forths before Dave got it right but it does look sweet. Now you need to remove those tacky arrow decals.

I was wondering who had these made, from Dave's "pride display" post. Very Nice!
