Here's another good resource to check when you're traveling around:

It's not comprehensive, but it if a place is on the map, it's probably worth a visit.

Have fun!

I have never been there, but lots of folks say great things about Cafe Grumpy (or something close to that).

Soon after getting off of the train at Grand Central.... I dragged my old friend straight to "Cafe Grumpy" in Chelsea. As I had just recently jumped into the espresso world with a Vivaldi machine and a Mazzar Grinder.....I was eager to watch a qualified barista in action. ....I was not disappointed.

I had a ristretto espresso followed by a cappuccino....both were excellent....I now have something to strive for in my own endeavors. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The perky girl taking our order had a full size tattoo of a naked portifilter on her forearm......a nice kid! Other patrons of the establishment were politely chatty and the atmosphere was very relaxing and inviting. If I lived in the city....I would go there every day until I found a new girlfriend. It is exactly what I would want in a daily coffee stop. I don't believe there is a single establishment in Connecticut that is even remotely similar.

Later in the day we took a cab down to "The Blue Spoon"....it was closed......ugh! They only operate on weekdays.
