Using the Dream's Read/Write Functionality

In DREAM SW version 1.17 (maybe earlier versions, too), the Read/Write functions are officially designated as non-functional largely because what LaSpaziale delivered was not enough close to what CCS requested. This was intended to be a backup/restore function for the four profiles only to allow users to share profiles.

It's actually a full machine backup and restore with a few glitches and caveats. Within the constraints of that framework though it is actually completely functional and usable. It can't be shared with others for reasons noted in the attachment below, but in addition to providing a same machine backup/restore capability, it also allows the user to edit the file and reload the changes rather than making changes via the GUI. In most cases the GUI is faster, but there may be some special cases where "power users" find the edit and reload option preferable.

Great work, Chas. One question is the units for the offset numbers. Your example file has offset of 60 and 120 for C and F.

I am not sure why they express the offset as 10x the actual value. I'd need to try a negative offset and see how they express negative numbers to see if it makes sense.
