PID(s)

Forums below are for discussions of Dream and Dream T specific issues. However, both machines have as much, if not more, in common than they have differences. This area is for information sharing and questions that you think apply equally to both machines.

PID(s)

Post by chas »

I thought I had been told - perhaps I misunderstood - that the Dream had PID controllers on both boilers ala the GS/3. However, I noticed that the Factory setting menu's PID set up only has a place to configure one PID. Adding further fuel to my gut feel that there must only be one PID, I timed the steam boiler cycle today. While fully heated and at rest, the steam boiler cycles on for 7 seconds every 1:30. This is exactly the same as the original VI and VII. Then I asked Jason at CCS and he confirmed that only the coffee boiler is PID'd.

This doesn't seem like a big deal to me. It's always seemed to me that a PID'd steam boiler is overkill.
