Hi

My s1 v2 is spitting water from the vacuum breaker on the top of the steam boiler, this is then running down and tripping the circuit breaker. Lovely! Great placement!

What’s the normal fix for this? The valve is scree in - is it a clean or replace job? Any tips?

I had this happen to me too. In my case, the vacuum breaker became sticky from age. I took the vacuum breaker off (using a hex socket, I forget the size) and gave it a vinegar bath and good scrub. If you go this route, remember to apply teflon tape to the threads when reinstalling.

I also had issues with the boiler overfilling, which will exacerbate the "spitting". I routinely make sure the water level sensor on top of the boiler is pushed in as far as it would go. Even so, I still have to draw water regularly from the hot water tap to maintain dry steam from the wand.

That sounds like today’s job - will give that a try and will check the sensor.

Hmm plot thickens. Still tinkering.

One thing I’ve found is that the circuit board beneath the steam boiler isn’t connected at all - looking at the parts catalogue I think it’s ‘filtro ALIMENTAZIONE‘ - is this just a power filter? Not sure why it was bypassed, anyone shed any light on the downside?

Strange that it's not connected to anything. That board must be specific to the Mini. I don't believe my plumbed in model has this board.

Did you buy this machine new or used?

Mine is plumbed not a mini. The wires are taped up next to the main ground post. I got it second hand and it’s fair to say wasn’t loved, so suspect it’s a hack to save a few pounds.

If it's by the main ground post it must be under the group boiler (smaller one) rather than the steam boiler since the steam boiler is on the opposite side of the machine from the main ground post in all the machines I have seen.

I've had three of these machines and I don't recall seeing that board on any of them. I wonder if it's specific to 240VAC machines? The crude drawing in the parts catalog makes it look as though the board has three blades to accommodate crimp connectors and one capacitor. Is that really all it is or is that drawing inaccurate?

It’s under the steam boiler. 3 spade connectors and 3 components I think.

Good news is it’s working again - leak from the safety valve and the vacuum breaker - I think mostly the boiler was over filled and the vacuum breaker had crap in it. Seems to be okay now, will keep an eye on it.

However they mystery circuit is still not connected hopefully you can see it in the pic above. Looks like a factory sticky pad mount to the base of the chassis.
