Changing the tip

Post by ebprod »

I have the larger, 4 hole tip, and would like to change it. It seems like it is pretty stuck on. Any suggestions on removing the tip without causing any damage to the wand?

Thanks.

Try the simplest approach first:

Soak it in boiling water for 5 minutes. Then give it a good long blast of steam and try the wrench right after.

If that doesn't work, try letting the tip sit in a hot water backflush solution overnight. Then repeat above.

If that still doesn't work, I'd remove the whole arm from the machine, soak it in a good penetrant and then gently hold it in a wood vise (using a cloth) and gently twist off the tip.

You'll proabably need to replace the o-ring after this.

By the way, I highly recommend to everyone that you remove your tip as part of your monthly maintenance routine (basically whenever you do a chemical backflush). This will help minimize these tip sticking issues.
