Could anyone tell me what's happening?
Air from the group
Re: Air from the group
Not sure. Maybe a small air bubble in the lines?
Mine does the exact same thing. I'm not worrying about it. The flow doesn't seem to slow down at all and I'm sure it has not effect once the sceens are installed.

Good to know it. Thanks. I thought it was a problem of my Mini.Endo wrote:Mine does the exact same thing.
If you look carefully you will see bubbles coming from the screens...The flow doesn't seem to slow down at all and I'm sure it has not effect once the sceens are installed.

Re: Air from the group
I've never seen an S1 or VII do this so it must be caused by the differences in the MIni design. That pretty much narrows it down to either the tank or the Vibe pump.
OR the mechanical preinfusion device. Do all those of you that are seeing this have the mech PI device?

Re: Air from the group
Without getting too technical, I suspect it is due to inertial cavitation. I'm almost certain this does not exist when the flow is retricted by the dispersion disc, coffee and basket. So this is a non-issue in my mind.

Endo explains his theory in more detail in this video.

Geeez, that was a waste of a good 7 minutes. I kept shouting "get to the point"!
I think the standard "wiki" link explains it well (if anyone is interested in learning more).
