Hmmm. Something didn't work right. The Forum SW is supposed to scale down any pics that go over 640x480. Obviously time to look at the settings for that feature!

Oh duh, I see, the pics weren't uploaded an external link was used.

I shot a video with one of my two different cut bottomless PF's.
I can shoot a clip of the other also if you'd like.

Is this what yours looks like?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A602-tMHxq4

thanks for the vid clip.

But that looks nothing like mine. when i do that it sprays all over the place. maybe i can figure out how to make a clip with my camera...

I have a funny feeling my single basket is faulty. i think some of the holes are too small. Pulling a shot this evening, there was one single stream of espresso from one of the holes on the very edge of the basket heading out at 45 deg. from the group head onto the counter ?!

Hope my double filter basket shows up tomorrow. I guess here's a minus for the 53mm - I would already have a double basket otherwise.

I forgot you were stuck with that single basket!
I'll post another video clip with the single basket when I get a chance, I can't honestly say it's the same as the double since I NEVER use the single...

That would be great, thank you.

At my local coffee shop (2% Jazz, *best coffee in Victoria*) the owner/operator, Sam Jones, has said he just might have a 53mm basket for me?!

What other models / brands use 53mm? Solis maybe?

I think I'll take him up on this, as I don't know when my double will arrive from Caffe Tech.

Not sure....I think the Spaz is the only one with a 53, they vary so I would only get a Spaz specific version.

Zoomin, just for your info I have a bottomless double and don't have problems with blanks shots. Straight down to the cup or tray. As you said, it could be the single basket.

Cheers

Looking forward to seeing it.
I'll link it to the video section of the forum so others can have a reference of how the two baskets compare.

What does your pressure gauge say during a blank shot from the single?

I think the usual 8 bars or so when empty, it hits no higher than 9 bars with coffee or blind basket.
