temp adjustment

Post by bwana »

I've read that holding down the boiler button 10s changes the leds from 5deg increment indicators to 1 deg increments. What should the labels read then? what temp does the rightmost green temp led represent? Where is the 95 deg reference point then? the 90?

Goes from 91C to 97C. Last LED in the row is "no water" on my Mini ("econ" on the S1). See the photo on page 9 of this guide:

You can buy a new sticker from Chris Coffee for about $5.

Does this apply to S2V1 build in 2006?

Does anyone know which models this applies to? I've got an S2V1 but it was built in 2006.

First things first. There is no S2V1. I assume you mean S1V2???

All V2s have both the current 1C increment as the default and the optional 5C increment mode like the S1V1s which you can switch into if preferred. For full information and caveats, read the manual.
s1v2/V2%20Manuals/V2Owner%27sManualRevE.pdf

What you probably don't have is the firmware upgrade that supports programmable preinfusion.or more info about that option read these threads:

Sorry. I mis-typed..

I meant I have an S1V1 built in 2006. It shows 5 degree increments on the buttons. I'm wondering if this can be set to 1 degree increments by holding down the boiler button.

Thank you.

No you can't. The V1 just has the mode where you pick your closest 5C increment and then add a positive or negative offset to get the temperature you want.

For a couple hundred bucks you can buy a V2 control board and install that. Then get a replacement sticker for the lamps. If you do that you'll essentially have a V2 but without the dual manometer. Of course you can always add that, too, as an upgrade. Depends on how much you want to spend on it.

If you haven't checked it out already, look over the info on the V1 site at the link at the top of the page or click here:
s1v1/
You can find the S1V1 User's Manual there if you don't already have one.

Actually, I think the non-US models from about 2008 (labelled only as Vivaldi) have the 1C. I hold down the boiler button for 10 sec and it switches from 5C to 1C.

I then just bought the new 1C sticker from CC for $10.

Try it out and you'll know for sure if you have it or not.

mine has a build date of 2006, so I'm sure it must not have that feature.
Thank for the info guys!

I expect not. If it was built in 2006, it likely has the old board, as Chas said.

I was just pointing out that some new non-US machines (like mine), which are identified as S1V1, actually have this 1C feature as well. Only difference being the V2 sticker, and the "non-vibrating" round, single gauge. ;-)

Thanks for the info. I've just discovered my recently acquired 2008 v1 has the v2 board in it.
Now to read some more and find out what I've won.

Does anyone have a link to this sticker? I've been looking but can't find it on CC website.

It's not on the website. You have to call and ask.

We have no way of knowing where you are (UK) since your profile does not provide a location. I would urge you to edit your profile and include some location information since it can help others to help you.

Thanks. A while back I actually tried to install an add-on that would make this a mandatory field, but the installer kept erroring out on me.
