Alternative to Yoplait container for WDT?

Post by tritium »

I have been enjoying my VII and have started using the WDT. Works great for me, but it would be nice to have something that looks a little nicer than the cut off yogurt container, but is equally functional.

I did some searching, but didn't find a thread that answers this question. If there is one, pointing me to it would be most welcome. Otherwise, I would appreciate any suggestions you might have.

Thanks in advance.

I use the Yoplait container on my Mazzer.
Don't need one for my MACAP but I still use the 'ol chopstick for both. I'll keep using them this way until I spend for a big conical grinder (which will never happen) or when I finally get a Versalabs (which might eventually happen).

...oh and ah, Tritium - welcome to the S1 Cafe!
Just noticed it's your first post and my manners went out the window

Here's a clip showing the MACAP in action with no yogurt container:

Why is the container needed? I just dose into the p/f & stir with a paper clip. As far as upgrades go I have a Super Jolly due in Wednesday which I'm anxious to compare to the M4.

The container is needed with the Mazzer for me.
The grinds get thrown into the next zip code if it wasn't for that bottom 1/3 of that yogurt container
It's probably my hazardous style of doing things.

Speaking of hazard....gotta' run - the Behmor's on fire again!

...ooh that was close.
It was only the chaff again
I really have to start roasting less chaffy coffee in that thing.
Something inside me is wanting to burn that thing down like Chas' Beh-no-more

I should start videotaping every Behmor roast from now on....
It might the last and it'll be a trick it can only do once, like yours

:blob6:

Seriously, that thing has caught flames about three times already. One time I had to hand scrub the soot out

If the house burns down make sure the tape goes with it. Otherwise, your home owner's insurance may not pay out!

Thanks for your responses.

I have had more consistent pulls with the yogurt funnel than without (read little to no channeling), no doubt related to my newbie status. Still, it would be nice to have something better looking until my technique improves.

In the interim you could go all Martha Stewart on the Yoplait container - maybe paint it gold and glue on some sequins and a few coffee beans.

Have you gotten the progressive pre-infusion option? That should put a dent in your channeling issues.
