I use the stock Spaz ones and rip them out with my bare hands, as a matter of fact, I can also do it with my teeth. Am I trying to show off? - No, just trying to prove that removing a Spaz basket varies from machine to machine just like the size of the baskets vary themselves. I have a couple of baskets that fit just like yours and the rest of them slip on and off.
And yes, any portafilter spring should work in the PF body for you, try using a La Marzocco one.
The link to the basket you show should also work but why buy new baskets when you can purchase a spring for under $2.

Or you can manhandle (sexist term?) the springs a bit with pliers, bending the flat runs closer to circular until they release your basket more easily. (The springs are very tolerant of bending and rebending in my experience.)

I tried Weska's technique soon after I got my S1 and still wasn't happy with the result. I finally replaced all my PF springs with this one:

Find other things you need and order them at the same time. Otherwise, you'll spend more for shipping that for the parts!

Heh-heh, yes, I admit that my technique is far from craftsmanlike. I can't get two springs alike, but both come out easily enough in different ways.
