Grinder to go with the s1

Post by Espressoluver »

Should I get a super jolly electronic or major electronic.
They are only a couple of hundred dollars different.
Its for home use so I worry about grind retention and size.

Any experience with these grinders?
Any other suggestions?
K8 fresh?

The Mazzer Electronics are expensive when you consider a used Mazzer goes for about $350 and will give you the same taste. So you are basically paying $1000 for a little increased convenience and looks. Besides, if you wish, you can do like I did and add a timer to the SJ for about $50.

For $300 less, I think the K8 Fresh looks very interesting (K10 too). Although I have never tried one personally.

Beautiful!

Although, if you want the same sized conical as the K10 Fresh and are willing forgo all the electronic stuff, you can still get the K-10 WBC for a good price (cheaper than the K8 Fresh, I believe).

notwithstanding the grind retention issue, the mazzer electronic grinders are great; expensive, but lots of fun to use and no mess around the kitchen from the doser

highly recommended 8)
