Brewtus III Comparison

Interesting review of the new Brewtus III at H-B:

The reviewer also owns a Vivaldi and makes some interesting comparisons in the conclusion section. Some good, honest comments. I agree with most everything he says.

I found it odd that Ian only spoke about "mechanical" preinfusion & the fact that it is an option on the Vivaldi (MIni & old S1). He owns an S1V2 which not only comes standard with programmable preinfusion but allows you to turn it off if its not wanted. I find it very hard to believe that anyone would prefer a fixed non adjustable p/i over the system in the S1V2.

Interesting review, the reviewer seems to put a lot of effort and thinking in his work. I like the PID but it would need more oomph from the second boiler. For a 2k$ machine I see no reason to stray from La Spaziale. The Expobar Brutus was not in the same price-quality category two years ago and while it is closer it still has some improvements if it wants to be in the same class as a La Spaziale.
