Typical PID units have a function that auto tunes the values based on a self check. Its a shame that La Spaz did not emulate that function in software.

I'm running with the factory 0 deg offset in F mode with a setpoint of 203 F. I had it at 201 and shots were sour. At 203 they are perfect. Hard to believe mine is off by 11 or 12 degrees. Yes. The controller is responding correctly (and quickly) to the bad sensor, and the wavy lines appears correctly when the displayed number is below the setpoint.
Just waiting for a call back from my retailer to see whether they have the necessary parts in stock so I can bring it in for repair.

Are you sure about the E being displayed when boiler is off, in full power 20 amp mode? I don't get an E when I turn off the steam boiler, the indicator for boiler temp in the lower right of the screen disappears, but thats all.

I have not experienced the "temperature wander" incident again. Temp readout is stable. So it really looks like a glitch in the PID algorithm or somehow something got corrupted then cleared itself. Very strange.

Just found another bug in 1.14. If you have multi users set up, when you switch from one use to another, the lights behind the hot water and single dose buttons go out, and don't come back on until you use those buttons.

Is it possible to ask CCS for a listing of all the alarms that are in the software with their meanings and applicable set points? This would be very handy from a problem diagnosis point of view. I noticed that the Vivaldi manuals have this listing. Sure would be nice if the Dreams manuals had it.

Just got one too. Pressure dropped to about 4 bars and alarm came on. Then back to normal. I did a few back flushes and have pulled a few shots since, but all normal now. Weird.

What are the buttons in between the up/down buttons for?
If you push the buttons that are in between the up and down arrow buttons, you get a beep but without any response on the menu. That tells me that these buttons are available, but are not presently used by the software. Any thoughts as to why, or is there a future planned use?

Looks like the la spaz solution just extends the discharge deeper into the body of the drip tray. I think that would be preferable to something that could plug up over the long term. In any case, its pretty cool the level of response this is getting from both the manufacturer and the distributor.

I've had my mesh out for a week now and the machine works perfectly. No wet pucks, water only in drip tray, pressure decreases correctly. I now believe that my original observation that the discharge hose was not connected was in fact caused by it blowing off when the mesh got plugged. Thanks, Chas!

Great. You can easily pull that mesh out. All it does is plug up with coffee residue. The fitting solves the problem on its own.

Mine has the modified discharge fitting and I've removed the little screen. As others have noted, that screen is unnecessary. All the discharge is correctly directed into the driptray.

The timing number does have a use. If you use the "grinding" menu option then if the shot is outside the timing by the set amount of seconds (5, 10, etc) then the machine will alarm showing that you need to adjust the grind. So I don't agree that they should remove it. Here's the quote fro...

Yup. Mine is starting to clog as well, so I removed it. Not a great idea by CCS. It will clog very quickly. They need to think of another method to disperse the flow.

Solved. Line was disconnected from brass discharge fitting of 3 way. The disconnected line was tucked in the back of the machine. Took some work to reconnect, but all good now. Wow! Looking at the flow diagram in the Vivaldi manual, I think it is as I described. There is a backflow prevention check valve between the pressure sensor and the pump. Occasional high line pressure alarm after shot
Just got my Dream. Occasionally after pulling a shot, the line pressure indication goes to 6.1 bar and the alarm sounds. Then the pressure indication slowly decays to the actual line pressure which looks to be about 3.9 bar. Any ideas as to whats wrong?
