Could this just be the battery(ies) going dead; or are the timers as cheap or cheaper than replacement batteries?JohnB wrote:The screen on my West Bend is fading away so I need to find something soon.

Re: What's up with Home-Barista?
I had problems accessing HB Monday morning from my work network. It still had the old DNS entry cached. From home, Comcast surprisingly had the new information shortly after it changed.

Re: new black cat coffees
I'm finishing up the second pound of the classic BC I bought last month to break in the new machine. I'm dosing about 16g and extracting at 95C with 3sec of preinfusion (from a FloJet set to about 30psi). My beans have peaked so they are better suited to Americanos now but I was getting mostly choco...

Re: Mini Boiler Precautions
The S1(V1 or V2) are portable.

Did I damage my pump?
I refilled the water bottle feeding the FloJet that supplies the VII. While doing so, some of the water in the dip tube leaked out and air got in. I think air got sucked into the pump while pulling subsequent warming shots. Some steam/air spit out of the group head and the pump made a different soun...

Re: Belle Espresso
[New S1V2 owner (3 weeks) and 1st post here.] As a data point, I'm currently pulling 14-15g Black Cat (roast date 12/15/08 & frozen until this past Sunday) doubles at 95C with 3 sec of preinfusion. I was getting more acidic flavors at 93C than I liked (at least in coffee) so I upped the temperat...
