Re: Electricity problem when brew boiler reaches set temperature

Hi Kev Sorry to hear that this happened to your machine as well. My issue was 10 years ago, so I hardly remeber. But I managed to dig out an E-mail from the repair shop I used at the time. Quote: The heating element of the boiler was defective So, I guess something else is wrong with your machine? I...

Re: Pump pressure vs noise

Thanks for your tip. I checked the water pressure by reading in the Dreams display during idle and pre-infusion, which shows 2.5 bar. So I guess that is normal - right. I also tried to fully open the tap water faucet that is connected to the same string as the machine. When doing this, the pressure ...

Re: Dream Card reader does not work

Thanks for your inputs. I tried to format 2 different SD Cards in FAT format. I also made sure the name was blank. But no luck so far :-( I assume it is not required to have the machine's current firmware bin file on the card - right. I only placed the new bin file, as I never had a bin file with th...

Pump pressure vs noise

Hi, Ever since I got my Dream I have been pretty annoyed about the noise from the machine. I find it to be more noisy than my old Vivaldi II. I tried to play around with the pump pressure to see if that changes how much noise the machine makes, and it is clearly a big difference. I have uploaded a v...

Dream Card reader does not work

Hi, I haven't used the card reader in my dream before. Now trying to update the firmware to version 1.24. However, the cardreader does not seem to work. It simply does not find the memory card including the bin file. I also tried to use read/Write functions, which also does not work. It just says &q...

Yes, and it drops down to around 3.3'ish bars.

Re: Pump priority

It only happens occasionally, and I only experienced this 2 or 3 times in real shot pulling situations, where I did not draw water or steam at the same time. However, it is pretty easy to reproduce by drawing a little water while running a "shot" with a blind filter. Thinking a little more...

Pump priority

Hi I have noticed that filling the steam boiler have a higher priority than pulling a shot, which surprises me a bit  It is pretty annoying to see the brew pressure drop for a period of time during a shot, when the machine desides to top off the steamboiler. On my old VII, brewing always had t...

Btw, my dream does not look like that. It's got a conventional adjustment lock nut.

Nope, this one has to be tightened. Otherwise there will water all over the place.

Re: Going from Vivaldi II to Dream

Thanks for your input Chas. I have attached a picture of the pressure screw. As you can see it is definitely different compared to the VII. Anybody else having the same issue, that the preasure drops over time, and the screw has to be tightened on a regular basis?

Going from Vivaldi II to Dream

Hi, I recently replaced my 9-year-old Vivaldi II with a brand new Dream, and after a few weeks of use wanted to share my experience and raise a few questions. I like the Dream and the coffee quality is at the same level as before, but in some areas I find the Vivaldi II better. So in my opinion thes...

Me too... Even though this thread contains lots of great information and different solutions, It would be nice with a step by step guide showing bgour's ESP8266 solution. @bgour, something you would consider?

How to: Simple remote on/off?

Hi I would love to be able to turn on my S1 Vivaldi 2 remotely via smartphone. I have seen some of the modifications shared in these forums, but prefer something as simple as possible. I was wondering how much modification it takes to be able to turn the machine on, using a Network controlled power ...

Thanks for the great pictures John. I will definitely get some foam tape for my machine asap. I am pretty sure that will solve my issue
Anybody else out there without foam tape, or am I the only one?

Re: Annoying vibrations

Sounds more like a GS3 then an S1V2. I've never had that problem with my machine & I don't even use the securing screw. Have you removed the warming tray cover to check for misalignment? There should be a foam tape that it sits on at each side. Possibly your motor mounts are loose?? How about t...

Re: Basket Improvements

I don't think your basket will work with a naked PF. Mine comes very close to the cutout edge and I expect yours will have the outer streams actually falling on the edge, which will result in a HUGE mess. Luckily, your new naked PF comes with a double basket, so that should fix things (assuming tha...

Warming flush procedure

Hi, Before I got my S1 I thought that warming flushes on dual boiler machines was done just before brewing. At least that's what I have seen in some youtube videos. If I flush 2oz of water ,the machine needs about 30 seconds or so, before the water temperature is back to brew temp. How are your proc...
