Re: uneven extraction

No pics, just my story. I give Kaffe 1668 5 stars and Cafe Grumpy 3 stars. Kaffe 1668 coffee was excellent. I tried an espresso, a macchiato, and a cap (on two different days!) All were excellent with good latte art. Kaffe 1668 was on par with my GS3 shots. I've recently had some shots with the GS3...

is the major you purchased a doser or the new doserless model 8)

Re: uneven extraction

i think kaffe has the best coffee in ny; to say that the coffee from kaffe taste like what you get from the GS/3 is quite the endorsement for the GS/3; while i do get shots on the S1 that are just like kaffe, that is not always the case; could be time to think about trading up 8)

Re: mazzer mini e

what do you mean by settled down?

how long should the burrs last before needing replacement; i have 2 mini e grinders; one grinds within the mazzer stocker band while the other has moved 5 or so notches finer; any thoughts on why that has happened 8)

how difficult is it to change the grinding burrs on the mazzer mini e and are there any issues with getting them in at the correct start point; is there a resounce for this with directions; are there options available for the burrs? one of my mini mazzer e requires a setting maybe 5 notches finer th...

Re: Average Offset?

is it possible that the offset has to be reset from time to time; not sure why that would be necessary, but i noticed that john mentioned that he recently adusted the offset on his machine; when i had to send my machine back to cc for a repair, i asked them to confirm the temp offset and they said t...

Re: Average Offset?

i had a similar experience with my offset setting; my machine was set by chris coffee at -2, but when i tested it with the scace i found i was off by 4 degrees (the black cat was always tasting a bit sour at their recommended temperature, but with my machine i was brewing it at 89); unfortunately, t...

Re: Help with divots in puck

you can get 18gs in a standard double basket?

i do my doubles at 15gs plus a bit for the part that gets left in the mazzer e; i can get 19-20gs in a triple basket

i thought the idea was not to have a big mark on the puck from the nut 8)
