Re: HOWTO: Installing a power-on timer on your S1 (Request)
Well 5 years on and while cleansing the house of X10 devices I changed the X10 universal module that's been semi-reliably controlling our Spaz mini to a super cheap esp8266 wifi processor based relay board. Updated my writeup here . Just picked up an esp8266 with a relay (month away, coming from Ch...

Re: Auto-on circuit parts
The first and probably the toughest part of making this mod is to get into the keypad panel housing (small plastic box) and solder wires to pins 1&6 which are the on/off button (actually, 1 is ground and 6 is the on/off line). I initially used the toggle switch solution described by JonW above ...

Re: V1 or V2?!!

Assuming it has a V2 control board, I could just send it to Chris' for the 2008 firmware update, +/- change the pressure gauge, and +/- change the temp sticker to 1 deg. instead of 5 deg and then I would essentially have a V2 top to...

V1 or V2?!!
I am looking at a used S1 and am hoping for some help in deciphering if it is a V1 or V2. I read through the V1 vs. V2 photo page and here is what I have gathered. 1.) Manufactured in 2007 2.) Round steam pressure gauge only 3.) Temp in 5 deg. increments 4.) New style temp probe in boiler 5.) Plasti...
